We are pleased to announce our participation as Guest Editors to the Special Issue “Innovative Approaches and Strategies for Sustainable Urban and Regional Planning”, Sustainability.
A key focus of the special Issue is represented by the sustainability of transformations occurring at the interface of urban and natural areas, and their potential in designing future scenarios for the management of the built and natural environment.
This Special Issue will focus on:
- The relationship between urban shapes and sustainability
- NBS and ecosystem services-oriented approaches, and their influence on human wellbeing
- The development and use of new tools and innovative monitoring systems and methodologies

Manuscripts are peer-reviewed, and a first decision is provided to authors approximately 20 days after submission.
The submission deadline is 10 June 2026.
Sustainability is a fully open access journal. Open access (unlimited and free access by readers) increases publicity and promotes more frequent citations, as indicated by several studies.
